Used to take a standard volume sample from the ground in order to establish the in-situ density of the soil. The apparatus consists of a 5 kg sliding weight drop hammer, which falls freely onto the driving head situated on top of the sampling tube ID 73x66 mm high. Made from steel protected against corrosion.
